This work envisages deployment of approximately 60 survey-grade PPK drones to capture high-resolution images to generate maps with a resolution better than 5 cm per pixel. At full scale, the fleet of drones will be mapping an approximate area of 1,75,000 acres in a single day on an average. Furthermore, the SSLR department will be using these Ortho-Rectified Images (ORIs) to create digital land parcel maps. These digital maps will play a critical role for updating landing ownership records, ground truthing and enabling infrastructure development across the state.

This has resulted in them filing close to 15+ patents and building India’s first DGCA-certified survey-grade PPK drone. To fulfil such a high-capacity demand, it is hiring an expansive team of around 250 people with high technical skills. That includes over 210 drone pilots, DGPS surveyors, and project coordinators.

Union Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Electronics and IT, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar will be addressing a Digital India Dialogues session on the recently revised production linked incentive (PLI) scheme for IT hardware at Bengaluru.

The session will be attended by stakeholders of the tech ecosystem – industry experts, representatives of industry associations, startups, etc.

The Government had last month cleared the PLI 2.0 scheme for IT hardware with an outlay of Rs 17,000 crore, more than doubling the budget for the scheme that was first cleared in 2021 to incentivise and promote domestic manufacturing by attracting large investments in the value chain. It will be implemented from July 1, 2023 with a cap on maximum incentives available to participating companies.

By providing financial incentives, the government aims to encourage the localisation of IT hardware components and sub-assemblies, leading to increased production within the country. The scheme covers laptops, tablets, all-in-one PCs, servers and ultra small form factor devices.

The scheme is expected to lead to total production of about ₹ 3.35 lakh crore, bring an additional investment of ₹ 2,430 crore in electronics manufacturing and is expected to generate 75,000 additional direct jobs.

These consultations are in line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s consultative approach to law and policy making. The Minister will be arriving in Bengaluru this evening.

The program is designed to engage and educate the local community, including nearby villages, apartments, and homes. PTE Academic will be accepted by the IRCC for SDS applications as of August 10 2023.

This approval follows IRCC recognition earlier this year of PTE Core for proof of English language proficiency for Canadian permanent residency or citizenship.

SDS is an expedited study permit process for students applying to study in Canada from Antigua and Barbuda, Brazil, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, India, Morocco, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Senegal, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vietnam.

Latest IRCC figures for 2022 show Canada reached an all-time high for international students. As of the end of October, IRCC had processed more than 750,300 study permit applications during the 2022 calendar year.

The UK, Australian and New Zealand governments already accept PTE Academic for all visa applications. PTE Academic is also accepted by thousands of universities across Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, the UK and the USA. PTE can be taken at more than 400 PTE centres in 118 countries.
