AMU research scholar attends Annual Gulf Research Meet

ALIGARH  : Mr Mohd Ubaid, a research scholar in the Department of West Asian and North African Studies, Aligarh Muslim University, participated in the 13th Annual Gulf Research Meet 2023 organized by the Gulf Research Centre, University of Cambridge, UK. He presented a research paper in the conference titled “Renewable Energies in the Gulf: The Ambitious Plans of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates”, which will be published in one of the journals brought out by the Springer.

Mohd Ubaid is pursuing his research under the guidance of Prof. Mohammad Azhar (Dean, Faculty of International Studies and Chairman, Department of West Asian and North African Studies, AMU) on the topic, “Assessing the impact of renewable energy consumption on the environment: A Comparative Study of India, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates”.

His paper examines the various aspcts of renewable energy development in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, especially the potential renewable energy sources and policies in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and the barriers and opportunities for their adoption and integration into the energy mix.
